Southwest Cheese Quality Intern

Job Summary & Responsibilities:

In this role, you’ll be a key contributor to a Site Quality/Operations team and will gain valuable experience supporting our manufacturing plants or project teams in various areas and have exposure to key operation and production functions such as throughput, yield, quality, customer requirements, cost control, and safety.  Throughout the summer, you will own a key project relating to a relevant business problem and have the opportunity to present your insights and recommendations to leadership.  Outside of this, you will partake in several development workshops and build connections with your peers and our business leaders through social & networking events.

Expected Outcomes:

• Ownership of a project to interact with all COEs, demonstrating analytical abilities and critical thinking skills while helping to solve real-life business problems.
• Knowledge and experience with manufacturing, lean concepts and application, and production plans through your daily tasks and projects.
• Strong collaboration within the site leadership and production teams,  cross-functional department teams, and potentially contractors, and vendors.
• Knowledge and experience with core engineering functions through your daily tasks and projects.
• Strong collaboration within the engineering team, the plant team, cross-functional
• Active participation in Pure Ambition program activities.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Current undergraduate student pursuing a bachelor's degree in dairy or food science, operations management, engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical/Industrial), business, or related field.
• Clear written communication and strong interpersonal skills
• Self-starter and highly motivated individual with the ability to work independently.
• Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.  Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

This internship opportunity is based at our Clovis, NM facility. Must be willing to relocate - housing is provided!

Compensation for roles at Glanbia varies depending on a wide range of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Glanbia provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in CA. This range may not be applicable to other locations. The hourly wage for CA-based employees for this role is $22.00 to $25.00 per hour.
