About the Role

 

THE ROLE:  IT Intern

 

LOCATION:              Waukesha, WI

REPORTS TO:        Systems Manager

POSITION TYPE:    Full-time, Exempt

 

OUR OPPORTUNITY:

Responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware moves, and software installs. Responds to IT queries, tries to isolate problem and communicate the problem up to the Systems Manager, and implements solution.

 

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software and hardware.
  • Respond to queries either in person or over the phone.
  • Train computer users.
  • Maintain performance of computer systems.
  • Respond to email messages for customers seeking help.
  • Ask questions to determine nature of problem.
  • Walk customer through problem-solving process.
  • Install, modify and repair computer hardware and software.
  • Clean up computers.
  • Move computers as needed around the company.
  • Install computer peripherals for users.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems.
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions; interpret a variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but involved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to write and verbally communicate effectively with customers or employees of organization.
  • Must speak, understand, read, and write English proficiently.
  • Physical Requirements include: Twisting, turning, grasping, reaching, kneeling, crawling, pulling, extended periods of standing, ability to lift 50 pounds.
