About the Role

Paid Internship (hourly)

Position Summary:

Working with the Global Environmental Health and Safety Director, the site EHS Coordinator, and others across the EHS team, the Environmental Health and Safety Intern will review, develop & implement Job Hazard Analysis and work processes that will enable the site to become a safer and more productive manufacturing facility. The intern will work with key safety and production managers to assess, produce, and implement safety procedures that will directly impact the safety culture and productivity of all workers. He or she will also collaborate with the manufacturing subject matter experts as well as management to ensure all risk assessments are implemented into our digital record and training platforms.  


The intern chosen will gain invaluable experience from working with the site safety team and gain valuable experience in safety that will help drive the sites safety culture to the next level.  


Responsibilities:

  • Work with the site EHS coordinator to ensure the tasks assigned are fully understood & outcomes are aligned with expected results.
  • Be comfortable working with manufacturing teams’ management, contractors, as well as his/her safety team, to identify hazards and risks associated with the manufacturing of biopharmaceutical equipment.
  • Provide daily & weekly updates on projects in scope to project sponsors. Clearly call out when project milestones / feature sets are at risk of being missed & proactively suggest recommended steps to project sponsors to meet project deliverables.
  • Execute other tasks as assigned.
  • Include US and Ireland sites on updates of projects.

Requirements

 

  • Self-starter & Self-motivated.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Comfortable with data.
  • Competent in Excel and Word.
  • Ability to build & maintain a project plan.
  • Familiarity with confined space, line breaking, and leading edge, but not a must.
