About the Role

Description

MATT Construction, the General Contractor that built such iconic structures as The Broad Museum and Academy Museum of Motion Pictures, is now accepting applications for an internship in our Safety department.

What you will gain during your internship…..

  • General knowledge of construction means and methods
  • General knowledge of safety policies and procedures
  • Basic understanding of OSHA, DOT, and EPA regulations
  • Solid verbal and written communication skills
  • Teamwork and interpersonal skills

Your key responsibilities......

  • Work with Project Management and Field Supervision to pre-plan safety activities
  • Work collaboratively and proactively with project superintendents to ensure project safety
  • Conduct and document job-site inspections
  • Assist in Incident Investigations where appropriate
  • Conduct toolbox safety meetings
  • Collaborate with Project Engineer Interns from other schools and majors

Requirements

  • A path to obtain a bachelor's degree, preferably in Safety, Occupational Health or a construction related field
  • Effective public speaking and presentation skills
  • A positive and professional attitude, and strong customer service skills
