About the Role

Goodwyn Mills Cawood (GMC) is one of the largest privately held architecture and engineering firms in the Southeast.

GMC has openings for Interior Design Intern (University of Alabama) in the Birmingham, AL office. The intern will assist the Interior Design Department with the following:

  • Design of interior environments
  • Selection of finishes, patterns and furnishing
  • Production and coordination of construction documents
  • Research project specific components and code analysis
  • Production of construction documents (plans and specifications)
  • Coordinate with sub consulting Engineer teams
  • Attend client meetings
  • Work in CAD and Revit
  • Interact with reps 
  • Maintaining timely, effective and honest communications with management and staff
  • Assisting with other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Enrolled in a Bachelor or Master degree program, majoring in Interior Design, or a related field
  • Excellent written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit a plus
