Data Engineering Intern

This position is based on-site in the Greater Seattle Area.

SUMMARY: Sono Bello is seeking a highly motivated inquisitive, self-driven Data Engineering Intern to join our small but growing data team. The intern will be responsible for upgrading out data bricks data pipelines to support a modern medallion architecture and enable our integration with the high-touch CDP, as well as maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our existing data infrastructure. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, takes initiative, and is interested in building technical and business knowledge in a fast-paced environment.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILTIES:

• Refactor Existing Python ELTs to conform with modern medallion architecture to improve monitoring and data integrity and support our integration with a CDP
• Work with engineers to learn how to monitor data quality, identify issues, and improve data accuracy to support reliable business reporting and decision-making
• Partner with our Lead Data Engineer in analyzing and documenting our data bricks schema to support scalable reporting and enterprise data management
• Assist with cleaning up and standardizing service and product hierarchy and categorization across the sales CRM and internal databases, partnering with business leaders to support accurate reporting and consistent business definitions
• Support IT teams’ initiative to improve data consistency between systems as part of their Active Directory/Entra clean-up project

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Currently pursuing (or completed) a degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
• Basic Knowledge of SQL, including writing queries and working with relational databases
• Familiarity with Python and R for analysis and scripting
• Familiarity with APIs and web-based data systems
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a professional manner
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
• Demonstrated ability to model Company values
• Strong Willingness to learn new tools, systems, and technologies as required

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work onsite at the Corporate Office in Bellevue, WA for a minimum of 3 days a week. May work in remote office locations on Wednesdays and Fridays.

COMPENSATION:

This is a non-exempt position with an hourly range of $20.00 hour, depending on experience.

Pay may vary by location, and actual compensation depends on factors like qualifications, experience, skills, and business needs. Sono Bello may adjust this range in the future.
