About the Role

We are seeking a currently enrolled accounting student for a paid summer internship to join our accounting team at our headquarters in Spokane, WA. This internship offers hands-on experience in property accounting and exposure to real estate financial operations. The ideal candidate is eager to learn, has strong analytical skills, and is interested in a career in commercial real estate, finance or accounting. This internship will run through the summer of 2026, with the possibility to extend. 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, including recording transactions and preparing invoices
  • Reconcile bank statements, tenant ledgers and property expense reports
  • Support the preparation of monthly financial statements and property operating reports
  • Help maintain general ledger entries and assist with journal entries
  • Participate in budgeting and forecasting activities for commercial properties
  • Collaborate with the property management team to review tenant leases and ensure proper rent billing
  • Assist with property tax filings and insurance documentation
  • Perform data entry and update financial records using accounting software
  • Participate in internal audits and compliance reviews
  • Assist with financial projects and reporting tasks as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Basic understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and familiarity with accounting software (e.g., Yardi or QuickBooks) is a plus
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with high attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Effective communication skills and a collaborative attitude
