Job DetailsJob Location: Chicago - Bedford Park, IL 60638Position Type: InternshipEducation Level: High SchoolSalary Range: $15.00 - $25.00 HourlyJob Shift: 1st Shift SUMMARY OF POSITION  The Internship/Co-Op will work directly with members of the manufacturing engineering team on current and new projects. The position will also have individual assignments to gain real world engineering experience within an aerospace manufacture as well as allow for direct hands-on experience in manufacturing and engineering.     ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Researches, analyzes and create work instructions to support standard work. Collect, identify, and organize tooling at machines through 5S activities. Assist in key engineering projects. Research and develop ROIs with the engineering team. Create CAD models to support current projects. Create Inspection reports. Present findings and lessons learned to top management at the end of term. Other job duties as assigned SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILTIES This position will not direct the work of any other employees. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Manufacturing Engineering. US Citizen or Green Card Holder KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED AND/OR PREFERRED Capacity to understand, interpret, and work with technical drawings and bills of materials. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.  Must be comfortable with all levels of personnel, from Operator to Upper Management. Outside of the box creativity and problem solving. Proactive and strong inactive Excellent listening skills Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously, good time management skills. Self-motivated, hands-on approach, can-do attitude. Attention to Details:  Actively checking for accuracy of data received or generated.  Accuracy of data input is critical. Knowledge of Lean practices and 5S is a plus Good mechanical aptitude Good understanding of MS office suite of products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Visio).  3D CAD modeling knowledge is a plus (NX, Solid Works, PTC Creo/Pro)         Qualifications
