About the Role

Marketing Intern - Social Media, Content Creation & Brand Development

Location: Where Smiles Grow – Pediatric Dentistry

Position Type: Part-Time Internship (Spring Semester, with summer potential)

Commitment: Approx. 10 Hours/Week

Compensation: Paid (Hourly rate based on experience)

The Mission

Are you a social media savvy person who knows how to stop the scroll? Where Smiles Grow Pediatric dentistry is looking for a creative, energetic Intern to help us pull back the curtain on our dental practice. We aren't just about teeth; we are about people, our community, and our incredible team. We want to move away from stock photo dental marketing and toward authentic, organic storytelling that showcases our personality and how we put our patients above everything else.

The Role

Working directly with our Marketing Team, Office Manager and Doctors, you will be the "eyes and ears" of our practice’s digital presence. You won’t just be developing posts—you’ll be strategizing and creating.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Content Strategy: Collaborate with the team to build and maintain a monthly social media calendar.
  • Content Creation: Capture, edit, and produce high-quality photos and short-form video (Reels/TikToks) that highlight our office culture and patient experience.
  • Brand Personality: Brainstorm and execute creative ideas to show off the "human side" of our doctors and staff.
  • Community Engagement: Help document and promote our involvement in local events and community initiatives.
  • Organic Growth: Brainstorm marketing ideas to increase our reach and engagement without relying solely on paid ads.

Who You Are

  • A Storyteller: You understand what makes a post relatable and shareable.
  • Tech-Savvy: You’re proficient in Instagram, TikTok, Facebook. BONUS: Familiar with basic editing apps (CapCut, Canva, etc.) but not a requirement.

  • A People Person: You aren't afraid to walk into a room, engage with a patient, the team, and get the "behind-the-scenes" shot or encourage somebody to be part of a social media post.

  • Self-Starter: You can take a general concept and turn it into a finished post.

What’s In It For You?

  • Real-World Impact: Your work will be the face of our practice. You’ll have a tangible portfolio of growth and engagement metrics to show future employers as well as get the word out about a dental practice that has provided high quality dental care to the pediatric and special needs population of the Capital District for over 40 years.
  • Mentorship: Work alongside marketing professionals and business owners.
  • Flexibility: a schedule that would average ~10 hours a week that respects your classes and has some flexibility.

  • Potential for Growth: Successful Spring interns will be prioritized for a continued summer role if you are based locally.
