Tri Pointe Homes Houston is looking for a driven, enthusiastic individual to join our talented group as a Construction Intern.

 

Position Highlights: The Construction Intern will manage the new home construction process within assigned communities. The selected intern candidate will be exposed to planning & scheduling, quality management, and cost control. Will be responsible for ensuring homes are delivered within the specific cycle time and budget targets as well as customer quality expectations when closed. This is a 3-month temporary field position taking place during the summer. This intern must be flexible to work at any of our locations throughout the summer.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Assist with project-related tasks on construction projects that include assessing project requirements, implementing processes, and analyzing project performance
  • Assist with obtaining project data to establish schedules
  • Assist with monitoring and forecasting project budgets, contracting costs, and actual money spent
  • Assist with quality control evaluations
  • Assist with contract administration, project correspondence, and document control
  • Adhere to all safety standards
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Position Qualifications:

  • High school graduate/GED required.
  • Pursuing a Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or other related fields from an accredited program
  • A minimum of a 3.0 GPA strongly preferred
  • Able to work a full-time schedule during summer months
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Working knowledge of basic computer programs, including Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Must be able to read blueprints
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle for transportation required
