Responsibilities

• Assist on enhancing material planning process automation to improve accuracy and effectiveness for Material planning team.

• Assist on enhancing non-product procurement process automation to improve accuracy and effectiveness for Procurement team.

• Assist on enhancing Production Control automation to improve accuracy and effectiveness for Production Control team.

• Develop automation and increase efficiency for business processes through the enhancement of the purchasing database, materials planning database and inventory management database.

• Carry out any other administrative activities or job duties assigned.

Key projects:

• PWCS Material Planning is challenging due to ordering Just-In-Time materials and managing Inventory spend. There is high impact to our sales if we do not perform at the optimum level. Intern will be involved in project to further improve our software automation to help with tracking and planning of materials and consumables.

• PWCS Logistics and Production Control processes have opportunity to be enhanced for efficiency. Intern will be tasked to review the processes and develop solutions to eliminate process wastes and introduce automation and digital tools for enhanced process.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Business, Engineering, or relevant courses

• Good analytical and Microsoft skills in Excel and Access preferred.

• Basic programming languages like Python, VBA & SQL preferred.

• Open-minded and motivated to learn.

Learning Outcome

• Microsoft Access VBA programming, Python and SQL

• Microsoft PowerBI, PowerQuery

• Continuous Improve tools using CORE (Customer Oriented Results & Excellence)

• Student involved in this process will also gain the workings of an MRO plant.

• Work cooperatively and communicate effectively with members of multidisciplinary teams and other stakeholder groups.
