Job Description:

Overview of Role

The Research Intern is part of the Research & Analysis team based in Singapore. Reporting to the Head of Research – Asia Pacific, he/she is responsible for supporting the team by contributing to data building and maintenance.

Main Responsibilities

  • Assist in building, updating, validating and revamping datasets, data models, dashboards to support trading analysis team.
  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of key data inputs across platforms.
  • Support the automation of data collection and reporting processes to improve team efficiency.
  • Primarily support the Head of Research, APAC, in developing cross-barrel initiatives.
  • Conduct quantitative and statistical analysis of oil products, spreads, cracks, and cross-market relationships.
  • Help identify cross-sector trends and insights through data analysis and visualization.
  • Assist with ad-hoc projects that add value to the research work developed by the desk analysts
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties assigned by manager


Profile

The individual should have the following experience:

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong data skills in database management, coding, statistical analysis (back testing), and visualization.
  • Analytical, detail-oriented, and comfortable working under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Strong prioritization and time management skills with ability to work under pressure in dynamic environment with tight deadlines.
  • Self-motivated individual and ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Applicants need to commit to the standard 5 days work week throughout the entire 6 months internship period.
