Job Title: Safety/Environmental Intern Division: Precision Pulley & Idler (PPI)

Revision Date: March 23, 2026 Reports To: Risk Management and Compliance Manager
PURPOSE OF POSITION
Serve as a contributing member of Risk Management and Compliance team. To assist the Risk Management and Compliance Manager in reviewing and evaluating company environmental programs to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations. To assist in the administration of company policies, company records and supporting Corporate Safety Programs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.
More specifically, the person will:
- Partner with the safety and environmental team in reviewing policies and procedures for compliance with all local, state and federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), Department of Natural Resources (DNR) and Department of Transportation (DOT) rules and regulations.
- Create and distribute communications that foster a culture of safety.
- Observe locations and document any potential safety or environmental concerns.
- Participate and facilitate safety related trainings
- Work closely with manufacturing team to ensure compliance for all safety and environmental programs
- Communicate positively with supervisors, coworkers, and internal/external customers
QUALIFICATIONS

- Pursuing bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or university majoring in Occupational Health/Safety Engineering, Environmental Sciences or Public Health
- Strong academic candidate, demonstrated by a GPA of 3.0 or better
- Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work and communicate with many people at varying levels of the organization
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- High level of professionalism/strong communication skills
- Proficient computer skills including Word, Excel, and Power Point
- Teamwork and leadership experiences in academic, athletic, and/or off-campus activities
- Previous work experience preferred
- Embodies corporate mission and team values – customer-first, team-oriented, positive attitude, problem solver, and personal passion
- Regular, consistent attendance
EDUCATION – EXPERIENCE – COMPUTER SKILLS
- Currently enrolled and in good standing, in a post-secondary education and/or technical certificate program in a field related to the work done in the department.
- Basic knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
TRAINING – CERTIFICATIONS – LICENSES
- Training or coursework in environmental science, occupational safety, or related field

- Specific hearing abilities required for this job include the ability to hear equipment alarms and the ability to hear instructions from others.
ENVIRONMENTAL ADAPTABILITY
- The noise level in the work environment is usually MODERATE.
- Steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, and ear plugs are required in production areas and when posted.
