The Cybersecurity Intern will support the Information Security team by monitoring, maintaining, and improving the organization’s digital and physical security infrastructure, gaining hands-on experience in access control, network security, and security operations. Responsibilities include assisting with implementing security protocols, monitoring access control and surveillance systems, documenting system configurations, and supporting new installations and troubleshooting.

Position Description
The Cybersecurity Intern will support the Information Security team in monitoring, maintaining, and improving the organization’s digital and physical security infrastructure. This role offers hands-on experience across access control systems, network security, and security operations, working alongside experienced security professionals to ensure the safety and integrity of Saddle Creek facilities and data.


What you will do:

  • Assist in implementing approved company security protocols to ensure a safe and secure workplace
  • Support the monitoring and administration of access control and surveillance systems
  • Help document and maintain records on the configuration and implementation of security systems
  • Assist with new system installations and legacy system support
  • Assist in troubleshooting malfunctioning access control and surveillance systems remotely and on-site
  • Research emerging cybersecurity threats and current industry best practices
  • Support routine maintenance and inspections of physical and digital security equipment
  • Collaborate with IT and security teams to support overall security operations

Our ideal candidate will have......


Education/Certifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field
  • High school diploma/GED required
  • Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Google Cybersecurity Certificate, or similar are a plus


Experience

  • Basic familiarity with access control systems or surveillance platforms (e.g., Verkada, S2 Access Control, Axis)
  • Foundational knowledge of networking concepts, including TCP/IP, firewalls, and VPNs
  • Exposure to security tools or low-voltage electronics is a plus


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Basic understanding of physical security concepts, including access control, CCTV, and alarm systems
  • Familiarity with network protocols and cybersecurity fundamentals
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and adapt as technology evolves
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
