About the Role


POSITION SUMMARY

eX² Technology is seeking a Fiber Designer Intern with basic skills in utilizing ESRI and/or CAD based tools such as ArcGIS and/or other GIS software  to join our team. As a Fiber Designer Intern, you will be capable of learning to incorporate all design specifications, permitting ordinances, design inputs, and field notes.  Our ideal candidate is able to comprehend, interpret, and render verbal inputs from the field teams as required.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

    Design and develop layouts for OSP fiber design

    Generate supporting documentation for the design. 

    Review completed designs for errors and efficiency. 

    Write supporting documents, how-to’s and SOWs


JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education

    An Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in progress is preferred in a related field.


Experience

    Experience in various GIS mapping software is preferred. AutoCAD experience is a plus.


Skills/Knowledge/Abilities

    Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written

    Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills

    Ability to multitask and work on multiple projects coupled with experience in working with fast-paced engineering in a production environment

    Strong organizational skills

    Strong sense of methodology, process, and metrics 

    Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office applications

    High integrity and work ethic


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to sit; use hand and fingers, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The incumbent is occasionally required to walk or stand for long periods of time. The incumbent may be required to lift and/or move up to 10 lbs. and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent will work in a semi-quiet office environment. 


Language Skills

Communicates effectively in oral and written English technical language, both in interpreting requirements and providing reports and mentoring. 


Reasoning Ability

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.


The incumbent must have a valid driver’s license and pass a mandatory drug test.


SALARY

$28.74 hourly
