Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


The Student summer intern for Finance will assist with unclaimed property, purchasing cards audits, financial analysis, budgeting and internal controls.  Student will also clean up data and member fee information, and will process capital credits returned mail.

Students must:

  • Be prepared to function in a professional atmosphere; both in the office and in the field
  • Operate all appropriate office equipment and computers. • Follow directions as given.
  • Performs any other duties as assigned. 
  • Must be able to appropriately handle confidential information and act within the practices established by the Bluebonnet Red Flag policy.
     

Education and Experience:

  • Enrolled in an accredited college or university working towards a diploma. 
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel).

Licensing and Certification:

  • Valid Texas driver's license or valid Texas ID. 
  • Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Knowledge of cooperative policies.
  • Ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge of job-related functions. • Ability to communicate both written and orally.
  • Ability to use all office equipment.
  • Must type 40 WPM or more and 10-key by touch.
  • Interpersonal skills that result in effective working relationships with peers, members and vendors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and in a positive manner; focused on improvement or problem resolution in a constructive, positive, and professional manner.

Tools and Equipment Used:

  • Office Equipment including computer, printer, copier, fax, etc.
  •  Physical Demands: Requires repetitive motion of hands and fingers such as dialing and keyboarding. • Light lifting of up to 10 pounds.

Work Environment:

  • Typical office environment.
  • Hours are consistent with normal business operations as well as employee and member requirements


Please note: Interns are restricted to working no more than 29 hours a week.
