About the Role

UPMC Corporate Facilities Engineering and Maintenance is hiring a Summer Intern to join our team.  In this role, you will assist our top UPMC technical expert in managing the complex infrastructure system throughout all the UPMC facilities. This internship will work Monday through Friday during daylight hours and will require local travel as needed.  The position will pay a standard rate of $20/HR.

We are looking for a current student who is interested in system standard engineering, facilities, or maintenance. Students who are in an IT, Analytic, Performance improvement or Data Driven Management related field are also strongly encouraged to apply!   This is a great opportunity for students to gain hands-on hospital operation behind the scenes experience!  Apply today!

Responsibilities:

  • Utilize the fault detection diagnostic platform to confirm the savings across all UPMC.  Analyze the fault detection diagnostic data and provide the summary of the report weekly

  • Utilize UPMC CMMS standard software to track assets,  document record of the equipment and retrieve the equipment information.
  • Prepare power point presentation summary for the all UPMC sites monthly.
  • Attending weekly fault detection diagnostic meeting as a participation and observation.


  • Currently enrolled and pursuing a post-secondary education degree (Undergraduate – Master’s) preferred.
    • Preference to students who are currently completing their sophomore year or higher.
    • Preference to students enrolled in an Engineering, Facilities or Maintenance related program, with a strong consideration for students enrolled in an IT or Data Management related program.
