About the Opportunity
Marketing & Digital Marketing Intern
David Zwirner seeks a highly organized and proactive Marketing & Digital Marketing Intern to support campaign execution, reporting, and cross-departmental marketing initiatives. This role works closely with the Marketing Assistant and Senior Paid Media Manager and offers hands-on exposure to the full lifecycle of gallery marketing campaigns—from planning and launch through analysis and reporting.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, curious about data and digital platforms, and comfortable taking ownership of tasks in a fast-paced environment. This internship offers the opportunity to develop practical marketing skills while gaining insight into how campaigns support artist visibility, gallery programming, and sales engagement. This role is best suited to someone who takes initiative and is comfortable working independently once given direction.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborate with Design, Events, Content, Press, and global Marketing teams to support campaign execution across multiple channels.
- Provide event support, including RSVP tracking, invitation management, and on-site assistance, interacting professionally with clients and VIP guests.
- Organize and maintain marketing materials archives, ensuring that files and assets are clearly documented and easily accessible.
- Assist with digital marketing initiatives, including SEO, third-party platforms (such as Artsy), email marketing, and paid media campaigns.
- Gain experience using analytics and advertising platforms (Meta, Google) to monitor campaign performance and identify trends.
- Compile campaign performance data and assist in building reporting decks that summarize results and insights.
- Attend weekly meetings with marketing partners and contribute updates or notes as needed.
- Coordinate client book mailings and gifting programs to ensure accurate tracking and organization.
- Draft design tickets for marketing materials such as signage and digital ads, clearly communicating project needs and timelines.
- Maintain accurate database entry and support client reporting tasks, demonstrating strong attention to detail when working with sensitive information.
- Lead one independent research project focused on areas such as market research, competitive analysis, web or gallery traffic patterns, or vendor evaluation.
What we would like you to have:
- A strong interest in the contemporary art world
- Comfort working with data in tools such as Google Sheets or dashboards in a data-driven environment.
- Experience creating recap decks or summarizing complex information into clear slides.
- A proactive mindset—comfortable seeking out tasks, asking questions, and taking ownership of work.
- Strong attention to detail and organization.
- Confidence in interacting professionally at public events and in client-facing environments.
The Summer internship runs from June to early August. Hours are 10AM – 6PM, 3-5 days a week. Preference will be given to applicants who can work 5 days a week. To ensure that our interns have a well-rounded and educational experience, we ask for a commitment of approximately 3 months. All interns are paid NYC minimum wage of $17/hour. All candidates must be residents of NY, NJ, or CT. No lodging or commuting expenses will be provided.
