About the Role

Overview

Unison, the leading provider for procurement solutions to the federal marketplace, is seeking an IT Operations Intern in our Tysons VA office. Unison provides coordinated workflow systems, data capture and intelligence infrastructure, and workforce engagement and development apps that optimize the business of government.

Responsibilities

The IT Operations Intern will provide the following services:

  • Assist IT staff with automation tasks, software and hardware inventory, SharePoint updates, datacenter operations
  • Write and improve corporate end-user documentation
  • Draw and update network and physical diagrams
  • Install and maintain open source software
  • Create, maintain images of Microsoft and LINUX VM’s in common formats (VMDK, VHD, AMI)
  • Other special projects as assigned

Qualifications

  • Strong enthusiasm and desire to learn
  • Excellent analytical skills with talent for problem-solving
  • Working knowledge of common end-user operating systems installation and maintenance: Windows 10 and Mac OSX
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office365 and other Office products
  • Ability to communicate clearly both orally and in writing with teammates, management,
  • Able to write clear, simplified documentation of basic IT tasks for end-users
  • Works both independently and as part of a team, including excellent organization and time management skills
  • At least 2 years as a full-time college student
  • Industry certifications a plus: A+, Network+, MCP
  • Working knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies (DNS, TCP/IP, cabling) a plus
  • Working knowledge of Active Directory and Linux a plus
  • Eligibility to obtain a government security clearance

 

 

Physical Requirements: Qualified candidates will need to be able to remain in a stationary position for periods of time, communicate in English orally and in writing, and be able to work in our McLean, VA office five days per week.
