 Essential Job Functions/Duties

  • Applies science or engineering-based competencies to contribute to the design and development of prototypes for new devices, improvements to existing designs, and updates to current processing methods
  • Analyzes data and draw conclusions using statistically sound and scientifically based methodology
  • Writes protocols, reports, SOPs, and other technical documents in accordance with Good Documentation Practices
  • Designs or identifies tools or other job aids for use in the manufacture of new products
  • Learns aspects of relevant surgical procedures or clinical segments to develop innovative solutions to meet customer needs
  • Works collaboratively with other people and teams within the company when needed
  • Assists R&D team with scientific assignments or tasks in support of larger projects or company initiatives
  • Effectively communicates work progress and findings to supervisor and team   
  • Conducts other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

  • Must be an undergraduate student in 3rd or 4th year of studies or a graduate student in relevant science or engineering field (Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science, etc.)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Microsoft Office Suite
  • Standard Laboratory Practices
  • Must be able to commit at least 12 hours per week
  • 0% travel required

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Move or lift objects up to 25 pounds
  • Frequent (>75%) stationary position (standing or sitting) while utilizing digital displays
  • Frequent (>75%) fine manipulation using hands and fingers (typing, opening, writing, clicking, paper sorting, etc.)
  • Office environment with assigned workstation
  • Laboratory environment
