Job Description

We are seeking a motivated and responsible Wonderful Scholar for full time internship. In this position, you will gain hands on professional experience and learn how the department runs.

Functions include but are not limited to the following. Must be able to move freely between tasks depending on workload, season, etc.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Researching and analyzing pest activity including field trials to study the effectiveness of various pesticides.
  • Development of sociochemical approaches as alternatives to neurotoxic pesticides.
  •  Study the behaviors and attributes of insects detrimental to almonds, pistachios, and pomegranates.
  • Conducting and coordinating field and laboratory experiments and data analysis.

Qualifications

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

  • Must be a Wonderful Scholar in Sophomore, Junior, or senior year of college.
  • Enrolled in accredited graduate or undergraduate degree program with studies focused on Agriculture related field preferred.
  • Must be 18 years of age.

SPECIFIC KNOWELDGE, AND SKILLS:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-directed and able to work autonomously.
  • Energetic and able to tackle new projects and ideas.
  • Ability to write and present reports as requested.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred, but not required.

LICENCES:

  • CA Valid Driver’s License.

- Pay rate: $18.50/hour.
