Job Purpose: Aventiv Technologies offers a progressive style 12-week paid internship program designed to give students and recent graduates hands-on experience in all facets of our operations. Students will have exposure to working alongside our experienced leadership to help build our processes and keep the business running smoothly.
The Procurement intern will be responsible for assisting the procurement team in meeting both departmental and corporate objectives. This individual will have the opportunity to become an instrumental part of the daily supply procurement activities, including reporting, analytics, purchase order creation and maintenance, pricing negotiations, and supplier management.
Essential Duties
- Provide day-to-day support to the Purchasing department.
- Navigate and utilize MRP/ERP Supply Chain Planning, Purchasing, and Supplier Portal applications.
- Participate in weekly procurement meetings and vendor communications.
- Assist in creating process documentation for key procurement functions.
- Generate reports and analyze data to support departmental objectives.
- Collaborate with suppliers to track deliveries and maintain pricing targets.
- Support business planning with forecasting and data analysis.
- Adherence to all company policies and procedures.
- Present an overall understanding of learnings as the final capstone to senior leaders at the end of program.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Tools.
- Ability to work across functional areas to achieve desired outcomes.
- High level of sense of ownership and urgency.
- Effective communicator to coordinate with others.
- Strong administration skills.
Minimum Qualifications
- Undergraduate or graduate business student with/or pursuing a major in Supply Chain Management, Business Management or similar.
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- Local candidate to work an estimated 40 hours per week
- Experience with manufacturing processes preferred.
Physical Requirements
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to: stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer, telephone, and a variety of office equipment.
- Occasionally may need to reach, stoop, or kneel.
