Core Responsibilities
The Tax Intern will support Direct and Indirect Tax Leads by assisting with the preparation of tax returns (corporate income tax, SST, GST), transfer pricing documentation, and customs reporting for Singapore and Malaysia entities. Responsibilities also include supporting monthly tax provision calculations, maintaining compliance calendars, and assisting with ad-hoc projects like e-Invoicing implementation.

Job Description

Role Overview: The Tax Intern will support the Direct and Indirect Tax Leads in handling direct and indirect tax compliance for Singapore and Malaysia entities within the Group. This internship offers valuable hands-on experience in regional tax operations and exposure to diverse tax compliance requirements across these jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support Direct and Indirect Tax Compliance
    • Assist in the preparation of direct and indirect tax returns (corporate income tax, SST, GST), transfer pricing documentation and related compliance documentation for Singapore and Malaysia
    • Assist with preparing customs reporting and documentation requirements, help maintain accurate records for tax exemption reporting requirements.
    • Assist with collating information for tax/transfer pricing/customs audits.
    • Support monthly tax provision calculations
    • Help maintain tax compliance calendars and deadlines tracking
  • Support for Ad-hoc Projects
    • Assist in executing ad-hoc projects related to direct or indirect tax, such as e-Invoicing and IT system updates.
    • Support tax research on specific technical issues
    • Assist with tax impact analysis for business transactions
  • Contribute to Process Improvements
    • Identify opportunities for enhancing tax-related procedures and practices.
    • Assist in implementing automation and system improvements related to tax compliance.
    • Help develop and update tax procedures and documentation

Qualifications

Here's what we're looking for: 

  • Academic Program: You are enrolled in a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Taxation, or a related field.
  • Skillset: You possess basic understanding of accounting and tax principles.
  • Personal traits: You have a structured approach, a driven and energetic personality, excellent communication and people skills, and the ability to work both in a team and independently.
  • Commitment: You are ready to dedicate at least 6 months to this internship.
  • Availability: You can join the internship for 5 days per week.
