Job Responsibilities
Short overview on the Unit/Team
The business unit is responsible for SGX’s connectivity and co‑location services supporting derivatives and securities markets, with a strong focus on client engagement, service development and delivery. The team works closely with trading members, ISVs, vendors, and internal stakeholders to onboard clients onto SGX trading platforms, support their access and co‑location requirements, and ensure reliable, low‑latency market connectivity. This includes ongoing client support, service coordination, and driving major client‑facing initiatives such as NextGen Co‑location migration.
Learning outcomes
The intern will gain direct exposure to how a global exchange engages and supports its clients in delivering mission‑critical market access services. This includes understanding client onboarding journeys, connectivity and co‑location service models, and how client requirements are translated into operational and technical solutions. The intern will also learn how to support client communications, respond to client queries, and work with internal teams to ensure a smooth and positive client experience, particularly during onboarding and migration activities.
Job Description
The intern will support the team in client‑facing and coordination activities such as:
- Assisting with tracking and supporting client onboarding, connectivity setup, and co‑location requests
- Supporting preparation of client communications, onboarding materials, and service updates
- Helping to maintain client records, trackers, and documentation related to market access and infrastructure services
- Assisting in coordination with internal technology, operations, and sales teams to address client requirements
- Providing support for client‑related initiatives, including onboarding, service enhancements, and migration programmes
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
Must have:
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to manage and track information across multiple clients or requests
Good to have:
- Interest in client service, financial markets, trading infrastructure
- Basic understanding of market access, connectivity, or capital markets concepts
- Comfortable working in a cross‑functional, client‑oriented environment
