Summary
The Cook Intern supports the culinary team in the daily operations of the kitchen while gaining hands-on experience in a professional private club environment. This position assists with food preparation, kitchen organization, and service support to help ensure high-quality food production and efficient kitchen operations. The Cook Intern works closely with chefs and kitchen staff to develop foundational culinary skills while contributing to a consistent and exceptional dining experience for members and guests.


Responsibilities

  • Assist chefs with daily food preparation and basic cooking tasks
  • Prepare ingredients, including chopping, measuring, and portioning
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of kitchen stations
  • Follow proper food safety and sanitation standards
  • Support kitchen staff during service periods
  • Assist with banquet, event, and à la carte service preparation
  • Learn plating, presentation, and professional kitchen operations

Requirements

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a culinary program preferred
  • Passion for food and learning in a professional kitchen environment
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team setting
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 lbs
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Expected Work Hours

  • Seasonal/Internship position.
  • Required to have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends, and holidays based on Club needs.
