Job Description

Job Summary: 

Summary: The summer internship position is an opportunity for an Engineering student to gain real world and hands on experience in a manufacturing environment, while concurrently benefiting STS Aerospace.  The purpose of this summer internship is to assist in the development and qualification of the Small Cuff Press, a project aimed at increasing hose assembles to be molded and simultaneously reducing bottleneck production.

In addition, the intern will spend time with the Special Process Engineering team, contributing to administrative tasks such as creating weld work instructions headers, gathering process data, and support continuous improvement initiatives, etc,  

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Collaboratively works with engineering team members to complete technical tasks associated with Product Configuration, New Product Development, Product Design, Manufacturing, and Test Engineering functions.
  • Utilizes a combination of measurement techniques, data collection, analysis, critical thinking, and software skills to provide insight and engineering solutions.
  • Familiar with engineering analysis, calculations, and computational tools. Ability to understand engineering theory and develop analysis tools.
  • May work with Operational team members to address test and manufacturing processes, equipment, operator safety, tooling, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Reviews and checks engineering calculations, design models, drawings, and design documents for technical content, errors, notes, accuracy, functionality, and completion.
  • Supports continuous improvement initiatives and completion of implementation activities.
  • Must be coachable, goal orientated, self-starter, and excel independently or in a collaborative environment.
  • Consistently, regularly, and predictably at work and on time.

Education and/or Experience: Currently enrolled in a two-year or four-year technical degreed program from a college or university.
