About The Company
The Delaware Entrepreneurial Center at Ohio Wesleyan's mission is to create a collaborative, innovative, and imaginative space that facilitates value creation and professional development. The Delaware Entrepreneurial Center at OWU is housed at 70 S. Sandusky St. and includes rentable office spaces, a shared work area for center members, a conference center with digital meeting capabilities, and educational programming to support entrepreneurial understanding and success. Center members have access to Ohio Wesleyan student-interns, through The OWU Connection, for assistance with product research, marketing strategies, budgeting, graphic design – and other needs to help them build their businesses. About the Role

Student Worker –  Career Connection Intern (26 - 27)


 Number of Openings: 4


 Purpose/Objective of the Role: 

The Career Connection Office is looking for multiple motivated, creative, and reliable student interns to work with us next year. 

You’ll work ~4–6 hours a week, collaborating directly with our staff to help OWU students prepare for the professional world. 


Tasks & Responsibilities: 

We hope to find the right intern for the right job; Please see sample responsibilities below: 

  • Peer Career Coach: Meeting with students for resume/cover letter review, drop-in career advising, and other career-related needs. 
  • Marketing & Newsletter Support: Create marketing materials on Canva, draft bi-weekly newsletters to students, and complete Instagram social media posts. 
    • Will likely involve Career Community specific tasks. 
  • Career Ambassador: Serve in focus group conversations, conduct brief classroom presentations, and represent Career Connection at events in a positive and professional manner. 
  • Project Support & Data Entry: Provide diligent attention-to-detail work to support large-scale initiatives and big events such as the Career fair. 
  • Website & UConnect Support: Manage the day-to-day operations of the Career Website on the UConnect platform and take initiative to make updates on the platform and possibly support the creation of new webpages. 


Qualifications: 

1. Must be reliable, detail-oriented, possess initiative and follow-through, and have a strong motivation to complete projects. 

2. Excellent communication skills; emphasis on writing and interpersonal skills. 

3. Verbal coaching/active listening skills. 

4. Creative/Artistic skills− writing advertisements, creating posters, flyers, banners, and social media posts. 

5. Knowledge of Google Suite & Microsoft Word, and Canva proficiency preferred.
