Field Service Engineer - Intern

KEY FUNCTIONS:

• Oversee and execute maintenance of steam turbines and auxiliary systems.
• Diagnose mechanical related issues and implement corrective actions, repairs, and part replacements. 
• Provide on-site technical guidance to customer teams, contractors, and plant personnel.
• Interpret technical drawings, manuals, and instrumentation data.
• Plan outage activities, manpower, tooling, and schedule.
• Lead and coordinate craft labor and subcontractors during field service tasks.
• Ensure tasks are completed on time, within scope, and to quality standards.

WORK QUALIFICATIONS:

• Internship at power generation facility preferred

• Training will be provided in the field, requiring rapid real-time knowledge transfer, estimating 6-8 months.
• Eagerness to learn, willingness to travel, interest in the technology are paramount for a successful field engineer career.

EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

Required:

• B.S. in Power Engineering Technology/Operations or Marine equivalent 
• 3.0 GPA or better preferred
• Involvement in clubs, sports, or leadership roles preferred

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• Role requires 100% travel.
• Typically assigned between 6-8 months yearly.
• Job schedule may be nightshift or dayshift, working as many as 84 hours weekly.
• Role pays overtime and provides truck allowance, cellphone allowance, and per diem.
