The Swiftwater Manufacturing and Supply site digital organization seeks a summer intern to support an Internet of Things integration platform transformation.  Currently, the site is using a dated technology to transform and transmit time series data from the site to its cloud analytics platform.  The site is deploying a new MQTT-based platform to gather, contextualize, edge-cache, and transmit time series data from manufacturing and laboratory data sources to a centralized cloud-based analytics platform.  The intern will be responsible assisting in the build and validation of the site proof of concept platform using container-based infrastructure hosted on an OpenShift platform.  The intern will be involved in the mapping of legacy data sources to the new edge transformation tools, documenting, and testing the end to end data capture of the new platform.  Additionally, the candidate will be involved in the cybersecurity hardening and maintenance of the platform and other shop floor and laboratory information systems.
