Summary

As a SMT intern, you'll gain hands-on experience operating equipment, performing soldering and inspections, and interpreting industry standards.


Requirements

Essential Role and Responsibilities:

  • Set up and operate automated SMT assembly equipment including Screen Printer, Glue Dispensing Machine, Pick and Place Machine, Reflow Oven, Selective Solder, Agilent 5d-Xray
  • Perform basic soldering and rework of SMT components
  • Perform visual inspections of SMT assemblies
  • Interpret IPC-A-610 standards for acceptability and customer specifications
  • Flexibility to train and move between functional areas


Qualifications and Education Requirements: 

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with SMT line a plus
  • Familiarity with Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) electronic components and SMT assembly process a plus
  • Must be computer literate


Other Skills and Abilities: 

  • Familiar with and ability to use hand tools like screwdrivers, pliers, cutters, etc.
  • Must be responsible and accountable for quality of inspection and work performed
  • Must practice safety daily, reporting all unsafe conditions to management
  • Effective communication and teamwork skills.
  • Basic understanding of inventory management principles.
