Over 24 pairs of hands touch each piece that we create - and although amazingly uniform, no two are exactly the same. Here at Deneen Pottery, we champion diversity, creativity and of course: MN manufacturing! Our production facility, within a turn of the century brick building located in the heart of the Midway Creative Zone, is responsible for creating over 2,500 mugs per day that are shipped throughout the United States and 11 countries around the world. Kiln fired to 2150ºF, each piece is durable and safe for the microwave, dishwasher, oven and freezer. All stoneware is lead free & food safe.

Deneen Pottery is a second-generation family-owned wholesale custom pottery company based in St. Paul, Minnesota. For over 50 years, we have handcrafted high-quality custom handmade mugs for businesses and organizations across the country.

We are closely aligned with sustainability values and proudly partner with National and State Parks, restaurants, retailers, resorts, and a wide range of businesses and non-profits seeking custom, handmade mugs that elevate their brand and mission.

Every mug we create tells a story — and we’re looking for a marketing intern who can help us tell ours.


Position Overview


We are seeking a creative, strategic, and tech-savvy Social Media & Marketing to help grow our brand presence, expand our customer base, and deepen engagement with existing customers.


This is a Part Time, Monday to Friday, 4hrs per day (minimum 20 hours per week) with the potential to evolve into a full-time position based on performance and company needs.


This role blends creative content creation with data-driven marketing strategy and emerging AI integration.


Key Responsibilities


Social Media Management

  • Manage and grow Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, and emerging platforms
  • Create and schedule engaging content aligned with brand voice
  • Develop short-form and long-form video content
  • Monitor engagement and respond to audience interactions
  • Track and report performance metrics

Content Creation

  • Photograph and film products throughout production and as finished goods
  • Capture behind-the-scenes studio processes
  • Highlight sustainability initiatives and partnerships
  • Assist in storytelling around custom client projects
  • Create blog posts and assist with website content updates
  • Assist with Illustrator Campaign program

Growth & Strategy

  • Help grow new customer acquisition (B2B focus)
  • Support email marketing campaigns
  • Assist in SEO and AEO optimization efforts
  • Research industry trends and competitor strategies

AI Integration

  • Identify and implement AI tools to improve marketing efficiency
  • Support automation where appropriate
  • Assist in developing innovative marketing workflows

Cross-Department Collaboration

  • Work with our art and customer service teams on special projects
  • Support trade shows or marketing initiatives as needed
  • Willing and able to assist in other departments as company needs arise

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or related field or comparable experience
  • Strong understanding of Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, YouTube, LinkedIn, and email marketing platforms
  • Basic knowledge of SEO, AEO, and Google Analytics
  • Experience with Canva or Adobe Creative Suite preferred
  • Photography and video editing skills strongly preferred
  • Comfortable on-site in a production environment
  • Strong written communication skills
  • Strong ability to analyse the process while collaborating with team-members for successful outcomes
