About the Role

Position Overview:
 Hotel Effie is seeking enthusiastic and motivated international students for a J1 Internship in the Front Office department. This program provides hands-on experience in a luxury hotel environment, offering an immersive opportunity to learn about guest services, front desk operations, and hospitality management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests warmly and provide a welcoming check-in and check-out experience.
  • Assist guests with inquiries, reservations, and requests to ensure a memorable stay.
  • Manage phone calls, emails, and other communication with professionalism and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure guest needs are met promptly.
  • Handle payments, process transactions, and maintain accurate records.
  • Address guest concerns or complaints with a positive and solutions-oriented approach.
  • Learn and operate the property management system efficiently.
  • Provide guests with information about local attractions, dining options, and hotel amenities.
  • Assist in administrative tasks as needed, including reporting and documentation.

Qualifications:

  • Must be eligible for a J1 Visa and meet the program requirements.
  • Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a Hospitality or related field.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Customer-service oriented with a friendly and professional demeanor.
  • Ability to adapt to a fast-paced, multicultural work environment.
  • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, and move around the front office area for extended periods.
  • Occasionally required to lift or carry up to 25 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, and reaching.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
