  • You won't just run analyses; you'll use your technical grit and storytelling skills to develop compelling reports that uncover how and why Newsela helps kids learn.

About You:

  • Graduate-level research experience in one of the following fields: learning analytics / educational data mining, education, psychology, communications, child development, or cognitive science
  • Fully fluent in R for statistical analysis and data visualization (especially tidyverse)
  • Fundamental statistics knowledge and skills
  • Basic experience with querying in SQL
  • Background or interest in educational research
  • Familiarity with markdown syntax (e.g., Rmarkdown)
  • Experience preparing data visualizations for audiences with varying data literacy
  • Experience with multilevel/hierarchical modeling

Compensation Details

  • The internship is fully remote, with a schedule of either 30 hours per week for 8 weeks or 20 hours per week for 12 weeks. The ideal start date is June 1, although this can be flexible for the right candidate. Total compensation will be based on hours worked at a rate of $35/hour.
