About the Role
Responsible for providing surgical assistance in the operating room under the direction of a registered nurse or other designated operating room supervisor and assisting with departmental support activities following hospital and departmental policies, procedures, and standards of care.
 
Responsibilities:  
 
Prepares and sets up operating room. 
Assists surgical team during operative procedures.
Performs terminal cleaning of operating rooms between cases. 
Completes and maintains records, reports, and other documentation related to the work, including risk management and performance improvement reports.
Participates in cost containment and quality assurance programs.


Required: 
High school diploma or equivalent
Successful completion of a Surgical Technologist program or equivalent experience.
BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN).
Certified by the National Board of Surgical Technology & Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA). Formerly Liaison Council on Certification of Surgical Technologist.
 
Preferred:
 
One year of surgical technologist experience.
 
Also accepting application for Student Interns. Intern must meet the following criteria: :
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Currently enrolled in an accredited CST program. Graduation from program pending within six (6) months      
  • BLS certification as Healthcare Provider or equivalent through the Military Training Network (MTN).
