ABOUT THE TRAINEE POSITION
We are now looking for a summer trainee to join our team for approximately 3-4 months (May – end of August). The exact start and duration of the summer trainee period will be agreed separately.
As a trainee in Kempower’s Concepting team, you will get to participate in early‑phase product concepting, mechanical feasibility studies and hands‑on prototyping with the support of experienced colleagues.
Your everyday work can contain e.g. the following tasks:
Supporting early‑phase mechanical concept creation for new EV charging products
Making 3D models, layouts and simple simulations (e.g. space/fit, structural feasibility)
Participating in prototype builds and practical evaluation in the lab
Documenting concept alternatives and preparing visual materials for concept reviews
Assisting in mechanical requirement gathering and translating them into design inputs
The position is located in Lahti. Majority of the work is expected to be done on‑site due to prototype building and hands‑on testing, but occasional remote work can be discussed.
WHAT HELPS YOU SUCCEED IN THIS TRAINEE POSITION?
You are a final-year student or a recent graduate in Mechanical engineering or a related field
Motivation to learn and courage to contribute actively
A proactive mindset and strong collaboration skills
Previous experience with mechanical design tools (e.g. SolidWorks, Fusion 360, or similar) or hands‑on prototyping is seen as an advantage
As our official company language is English, we expect you to have good English skills. Finnish is considered an advantage but not mandatory.

This is a paid traineeship with a monthly salary based on your completed credits and previous work experience.
