About the Role

BDC Brands is seeking a highly motivated Engineering Intern to support our Maintenance team while being directly mentored by our Plant Engineer. This role is designed for a hands-on, driven individual who wants real-world experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. 

The intern will play a key role in building foundational systems that improve equipment reliability, maintenance efficiency, and operational scalability. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

Asset & Documentation Management

  • Develop and organize a centralized equipment and asset library.
  • Collect, digitize, and catalog equipment manuals, schematics, and technical documentation. 

Inventory & Parts Management

  • Build and maintain parts inventory system (critical spares, consumables, reorder points).
  • Organize and document tool inventory.
  • Identify gaps and recommend improvements to inventory accuracy and availability.

Preventative Maintenance (PM) Program Development

  • Assist in designing and implementing a Preventative Maintenance program.
  • Create PM schedules, checklists, and standard operating procedures.
  • Support tracking and reporting of maintenance activities and equipment downtime.

Hands-On Equipment Support

  • Work alongside maintenance technicians on equipment troubleshooting, repair, and improvement.
  • Assist with equipment upgrades, installations, and process improvements.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.

 

Qualifications 

  • Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Controls/Electrical, or Chemical Engineering. 
  • Preferred Skills & Traits. 
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to work hands-on in a plant environment. 
  • Organized and detail oriented. 
  • Problem-solver with a “figure it out” mentality. 
  • Proficient in Excel or similar tools. 
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
