About the Role

We’re looking for a Quality Intern who’s excited to learn how great products are made and how we keep them great. In this role, you’ll support our quality team with hands-on learning, continuous improvement projects, and collaboration with manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering.

This internship is perfect for students who enjoy problem-solving, working with data, and getting exposure to real manufacturing environments while contributing to meaningful projects.

This is a part-time, hourly position based onsite at our Kalamazoo facilities. Ideal candidates are interested in working full-time in the summer and at least 20 hours a week during the school year.

How You Contribute

  • Help investigate and document quality issues
  • Assist with inspecting materials, components, and finished goods
  • Support the calibration of gauges and fixtures
  • Learn how to use measurement tools (including CMMs)
  • Communicate with manufacturing and engineering teams about quality findings
  • Help update or organize quality documentation
  • Participate in process audits to understand how standards are maintained

Criteria for Success

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited engineering program (industrial, manufacturing, mechanical, or related field)
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is an advantage
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn
  • Attention to detail
  • Comfort asking questions and working with different teams
  • Basic skills in Excel and Word
  • Interest in quality, engineering, or manufacturing
  • Ability to stay organized and follow a process
  • Good communication skills

Work Environment

Most work will be in an office environment, with time spent in the shop where conditions may be noisy and dirty.
