Social Work/Psychology Internship Opportunity - 

 


Granite Hills Hospital is a 120-bed behavioral health facility care facility located in West Allis, WI. We are dedicated to offering high-quality, patient centered behavioral healthcare for the greater Milwaukee community. Our new 120-bed facility features evidence-based treatment for adolescents, adults, and older adults.

Internship Experience: (Student will gain knowledge and experience in the following areas)

 

  1. Develop & implement a broad range of therapeutic and diversional recreation services and programs.
  2. Manage caseload, conducting assessments, developing and implementing appropriate intervention plans, documenting and evaluating outcomes, and goal writing. Actively participates in planning and coordinating treatment goals with interdisciplinary team members.
  3. Compliance with documentation guidelines and deadlines.
  4. Develops treatment protocols, and other supportive tasks as assigned.
  5. Creates and maintains a safe and positive environment for participants.
  6. Completes internship requirements toward preparing to take the certification exam for CTRS.
  7. Attends in-services, training and staff meetings. Provide in-service training as assigned.
  8. Commits to upholding in action and in deed, the service Excellence ideals of the agency and the department.
  9. Develop and maintain an excellent rapport with patients, visitors and coworkers.
  10. Carries out all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Expectations of Intern:

 

  1. Flexibility with hours (non-paid internship) and job duty assignments.
  2. (Usually 8:00am-4:30pm Mon-Fri)
  3. Obtains/maintains certification in CPR and CPI (offered at Granite Hill Hospital).
  4. Complete and maintain compliance with Ganite Hill Hospital Healthstream trainings.
  5. Has a clear and understandable communication skill in routine and emergency situations.
  6. Ability to be on one’s feet for extended periods of time, possibly the duration of an 8-hour shift.
  7. Ability to stoop, bend, push, pull, crouch, kneel, balance and squat for up to 20-40 minutes during activity.
