ROLE OVERVIEW:
Sustainability is a core value at Salesforce, and we believe technology is one of the most powerful levers for driving real-world environmental change. We're looking for a Sustainability Intern to join our Sustainability Intelligence team, supporting carbon and water footprinting and analysis that underpins our Net Zero and broader sustainability goals. You'll work across documentation management, spreadsheet analysis, and Net Zero Cloud, partnering with the members from Impact team and cross-functional stakeholders. This role reports to the Senior Director of Sustainability Intelligence & Decarbonization.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Support the annual greenhouse gas and water accounting and reporting cycle
- Manage the updating of key program documentation including Inventory Management Plans and process narratives, coordinating input from stakeholders
- Perform data testing and analysis in spreadsheets, including sensitivity analyses, emissions calculations, predefined data tests, and data manipulation and cleaning
- Contribute to process improvements related to data collection and testing
- Support our annual CDP report submission, including data gathering and stakeholder management
- Collaborate with internal and external partners on ESG frameworks and reporting standards
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program with a focus on Sustainability, Environmental Studies, or related field
- Familiarity with corporate ESG frameworks and reporting standards
- Experience with quantitative analysis in spreadsheets
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Effective communicator with the ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholders
- Experience with greenhouse gas accounting utilizing the Greenhouse Gas Protocol
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience maintaining complex data models and data management systems
- Tech savvy and comfortable learning new software & AI tools
- Experience using Salesforce, Slack, or Tableau
- Excellent organizational skills
- Project management experience
- Experience or familiarity with water accounting methodologies
