MAKING AN IMPACT

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance, this position will assist the finance team with a variety of day-to-day responsibilities. This role offers a valuable opportunity to gain hands-on experience in key areas of financial operation and analysis. 

 

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  1. Accounts Receivable (Offline and Online Revenue)
  • Process donation cheques receive by mail at Toronto office
  • Prepare bank deposit and daily deposit log
  • Prepares revenue invoices in accounting software, investigates deposit and invoice discrepancies through follow up with internal and external customers
  • Respond to general accounts receivable emails and work closely with Gift Processing team to identify issues with donation backup and to follow up with fundraisers for appropriate backup or details
  • Support online revenue month-end reconciliation and posting of journal entries into NetSuite


  1. Accounts Payable
  • Data enter manual invoices, maintaining/organizing accurate electronic files
  • Review and approve staff Expense Reports
  • Validate new vendors through phone communication to verify banking information as well as email to confirm other vendor information such as address and contact
  • Support corporate credit card process such as tracking, review backup related to credit card transactions, and follow up with internal CCS staff as required. 
  • Respond to general accounts payable emails and support distribution of emails for task completion by the accounts payable team
  • Perform weekly cheque printing tasks

 

  1. General Duties
  • Provide general office support, special projects

  • Other duties as assigned

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Acquiring post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting or related fields
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills (verbal and written) required 
  • Proficient in Excel
  • Enthusiastic, positive, solutions-focused with a ‘can do’ attitude, and ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills, with an ability to prioritize and multitask to meet time sensitive deadlines 
  • High awareness of and adherence to cyber security and related protocols
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information
  • English is required, French/Bilingualism (French /English) is an asset due to the organization’s nationwide operations.
