Position Description
The Toronto Region Board of Trade is seeking an Intern to support the Events team from May to August 2026. This role is ideal for a student with an interest in event planning, coordination, and member engagement. Reporting to the Events team, the intern will support the planning and execution of a wide range of events, including forums, summits, and marquee experiences that bring together business and civic leaders from across the region.
This internship is designed for a student who is highly organized, proactive, and eager to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced events environment. The successful candidate will develop practical skills in event coordination, stakeholder support, and operational execution while contributing to experiences that support the Board’s programming and engagement objectives.
Role Description
- Support the day-to-day administration of event registration systems, including creating and updating event pages and assisting with basic troubleshooting.
- Assist in monitoring and responding to general event inquiries, including distributing event-related communications to internal teams or members.
- Support the Events team with planning and coordination activities, working alongside internal departments and external vendors.
- Conduct research on industry trends and comparable events to help inform programming and improve attendee experience.
- Provide hands-on support for the planning and execution of events, including on-site support where required.
- Assist with coordination of external partners, suppliers, and logistics during event planning and delivery.
- Take ownership of assigned tasks or small projects, with guidance from the Events leadership team.
Your Experience Includes
- Current enrollment in an Event Management, Hospitality, Business, Communications, or related undergraduate or postgrad program.
- Strong interest in event planning, project coordination, or experiential marketing.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-service mindset.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also managing independent responsibilities.

Compensation & Benefits
TRBOT is committed to fair, equitable pay that matches the responsibility and expertise behind every role.
This role has a pay range from $17.60 to $20 per hour.
