Position Description
The Toronto Region Board of Trade is seeking an Intern to support the Commercial team from May to August 2026. This role is ideal for a student who is passionate about marketing, sales enablement, and client engagement. Reporting to the Senior Director, Sales and Member Engagement, the intern will contribute to sales operations, marketing support, and prospect development by assisting with client-facing materials, sponsorship proposal development, and targeted business research.
This internship is built for a student who is curious, organized, eager to learn, and thrives in a fast‑paced, professional business environment. The successful candidate will gain hands‑on experience in B2B sales, market research, and marketing communications, while supporting key functions that contribute to the Board’s revenue and partnership objectives.
Role Description
- Build compelling presentation decks for internal use and for clients, supporting sales meetings and sponsorship conversations.
- Assist in the creation, review, and formatting of sponsorship proposals and contracts to support ongoing revenue opportunities.
- Develop targeted new‑business prospect lists by leveraging LinkedIn, industry databases, and other research tools.
- Support the management and updating of internal rosters, including the growth and maintenance of Influence+ program lists.
- Organize and maintain internal team folders, ensuring documentation is structured, updated, and easily accessible.
- Collaborate with the Sales, Marketing, and Engagement teams to support cross‑departmental workflows and enable smooth internal operations.
- Contribute to special projects that support broader team initiatives tied to commercial growth and member engagement.
Your Experience Includes
- Current enrollment in a Business, Marketing, Commerce, Communications, or related undergraduate or post grad program.
- Strong interest in marketing, sales strategy, client engagement, or commercial operations.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint (deck building) and Excel (lists and data organization).
- Experience researching using LinkedIn or similar tools to identify potential business opportunities.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and ability to manage multiple small tasks at once.
- Clear and professional communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Compensation & Benefits
TRBOT is committed to fair, equitable pay that matches the responsibility and expertise behind every role.
This role has a pay range from $17.60 to $20 per hour.
