About the Role

Position Summary:



This position provides assistance to our IT team with the operation and maintenance of the cooperative’s information and communication systems. This internship provides hands-on experience supporting staff in the field and office.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:



  1. Provide first-level computer support to users by troubleshooting applications, hardware, and mobile devices.
  2. Assist with computer support, including upgrades and user education.
  3. Assist with the set up and implementation of new computer software and hardware.
  4. Troubleshoot voice phone issues on a VOIP system.
  5. Maintain strict confidentiality of stored data and management requests.
  6. Ensure adherence to company policies, practices, and procedures.
  7. Perform other miscellaneous job duties as assigned.



Education:



Must be a current high school or college student.

 

Job Knowledge:



Knowledge of Office 365 and other Microsoft applications is required.

 

Abilities and Skills:



  1. Must possess good communication skills, with the ability to express technical information clearly while working closely with other personnel.
  2. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
  3. Must be able to lift and carry computer equipment up to 50 pounds without assistance.
  4. Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and clear driving record for occasional travel.



Working Environment:



This position requires working most of the time inside an office building with normal office conditions. Must have the ability to perform repetitive motions and possess manual dexterity for duties such as dialing and keyboarding. Frequent physical activity includes sitting, standing, walking, stooping, bending, reaching, crawling, lifting, and carrying computer equipment under fifty (50) pounds, as necessary without external assistance of personnel or mechanical aids. The position occasionally requires travel inside the Cooperative’s service territory.
