Our candidate attorney programme offers diverse development opportunities to help each candidate attorney become a valued member of our legal team. We believe in cultivating the knowledge and skills of our people to help them launch successful careers in law.

The Programme

As a candidate attorney at Webber Wentzel you will be based in either Johannesburg or Cape Town. During the two years you will rotate in various legal practice areas exposing you to a wide range of legal disciplines. In addition to receiving invaluable legal training from top attorneys and respected legal practitioners, you will participate in our in-house PLT Programme in preparation for the Attorneys' Admission Examinations.

As a value add, we provide platforms to enable more experienced attorneys to impart their wisdom; share legal knowledge; support and guide  you during your two-year journey.

Minimum requirements for consideration:

  • South African citizen/ permanent resident
  • Studied/studying at a South African Institution/ SAQA equivalent qualification
  • Expect to complete an LLB degree by 1 January 2028

  • most recent academic transcripts including current year of study
  • academic transcripts of any undergraduate qualification (and any other relevant qualifications)
  • matric certificate
  • copy of ID
