ORGANISATIONAL CONTEXT:
The position is part of the Regional Director (RD) Front Office.
JOB PURPOSE:
The Reporting Intern will provide support to the RD Front Office to meet increased reporting, briefing, and coordination demands. The role focuses on compiling inputs from Country Offices (COs), maintaining structured documentation and information repositories, tracking developments in the region, and supporting the preparation of internal communication and briefing products.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (not all-inclusive, within delegated authority):
Assist in drafting, compiling, and formatting operational updates, situation summaries, and internal notes for senior management. Compile and structure inputs from Country Offices (COs) and relevant Regional Office (RO) units to support briefing packages and internal communication products. Support document management, version control, and archiving. Gather and organize operational data from COs across the region to ensure relevant information is readily available. Develop and maintain an up-to-date repository of key operational documents and information and ensure easy access to the latest operational figures, key messages, and critical information used by the team. Assist with basic analysis and news/trend tracking relevant to the regional escalation. Any other duties as required.
DESIRED EXPERIENCE:
- Previous internship or experience in humanitarian, development, policy or emergency coordination contexts.
- Exposure to reporting, briefing or information management is an asset.
- Strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent computer skills in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
STANDARD MINIMUM ACADEMIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Currently enrolled in or recently completed a degree in International Relations, Political Science, International Development, Humanitarian Studies, Public Policy, Communications or related field.
Language:
Fluency in English required; Arabic is an asset.
