About the Role

Site Description 

  • Design and Manufacture LED Outdoor Light Fixtures – roads, parking lots, downtowns, campuses
  • Recognized as a World Class Manufacturing Facility – host companies from all over the country to talk about our journey.
  • In-house processes – Powder Paint, Metal Fab, SMT (Electronics Mfg.), Assembly
  • Paperless on Factory Floor – Touchscreen for each operator
  • Build to Order – 10,000 SKUs per year across 22 products

Essential Responsibilities 

Typical manufacturing engineering / CI tasks and projects:

Factory Layout, Process Improvements and Upgrades, New Product Launches, CNC Programming, PLC Programming, Jig and Fixture design and fabrication, Workstation design, Assembly Line Optimization, Line Balancing, Materials set-up

The above are accomplished using Lean Six Sigma tools and manufacturing best practices, which we will teach you.  Such as:

  • How to “see waste”
  • Kaizen
  • Golden Triangle
  • Role of Leadership
  • Visual Management
  • Value Stream Mapping
  • Yamazumi Charts
  • Right thing, easiest thing
  • Better >>> Perfect

 

The Hendersonville site has hosted 100+ co-op students with a program that has been in place for over a decade. Our program offers students the opportunity to gain experience and develop skills by working directly with engineering teams on projects that have a significant impact on the business. We also offer training courses to enhance our students' technical and professional skills. Students from our co-op program have moved on to positions within our company in addition to well-known companies such as Deloitte, Eaton, BMW, Disney, General Electric, ABB, Amazon, and Lockheed Martin. 

Qualifications/Requirements Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree. Preferred GPA of 2.75 or higher.
