Grifols Diagnostic Solutions is seeking a Molecular Diagnostic R&D Intern, this role will be part of the Molecular Diagnostic R&D team and will be reporting to our Scientist III. The R&D Intern contributes to molecular product development projects. This includes development, execution, and interpretation of scientific research projects pertaining to molecular assay/instrument integration with detailed input from supervisor.

 

We are seeking individuals in the Junior year through recently graduated majoring in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Bioengineering. Prior experience with pipetting is preferred.

 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Performs minimally complex experiments with input from supervisor.
  • Learn about experimental goals and may provide input to the experimental design.
  • Analyzes and summarizes data from individual experiments with input from supervisor and documents work in a laboratory notebook.
  • Presents data in group meetings.
  • Assists with lab maintenance duties.

 

Education and Experience

Enrollment in or recent graduation (<6 months) from a 4-year accredited degree program, working towards a BS in Biology, Biochemistry, Chemistry, or Bioengineering or other applicable degree.

•           Able to work full time hours during the summer

•           Efficient and detail-oriented

•           Excellent verbal and written communication skills

•           Capable of working independently and collaboratively within a team.

The estimated pay scale for R&D Intern - Molecular Diagnostic role based in California, is $20 per hour. Final compensation packages will ultimately depend on education, experience, skillset, knowledge, where the role is performed, internal equity and market data.
