About the Role

HelloFresh is seeking a highly motivated Accounting Intern for a rotational program across the accounting department. This role will focus on month-end close accounting processes with a rotational program to gain exposure to various financial statement line items. This role will also conduct higher-level analytical reviews, assist with audit procedures, and participate in special projects focused on automation and efficiency. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Month-End Accounting Processes: Support in journal entries and reconciliations in Oracle General Ledger and Blackline reconciliation and task manager. Gain exposure to various financial statement line items such as Revenue, COGS, Fulfillment, Marketing, and G&A across multiple entities, as well as intercompany transaction processing.
  • Accounts Payable and Receivable: Perform three-way matching to process vendor invoices for payment and review vendor inquiries.  Work closely with other internal teams, such as Procurement and Operations, to ensure seamless processing and resolution of vendor invoices.
  • Workflow Automation: Identify operational bottlenecks and develop automations to streamline workpaper preparation with a focus on key controls. Support AI strategies for improved reporting.
  • Financial Statement Audit: Assist with PBC management and sample testing for the H1 audit. 
  • Analytical Analysis: Support preparation of P&L and Balance Sheet fluctuation analysis.

Who You Are:

  • Current Undergraduate: Ideally studying Accounting/Finance/Tax or a related business field, with a strong preference for candidates who intend to pursue their CPA.
  • Tech-Savvy & Analytical: You are comfortable working with Excel functions and pivot tables. Detail-Oriented: You sweat the details. You catch errors others miss and build preventative controls.
  • Cross-Functional Communicator: You know how to translate business needs into technical requirements and vice versa.
  • Self-Starter: You’re comfortable with the "figure it out" nature of and thrive in an ambiguous, fast-paced environment.
