Opportunity Overview
The intern will design and develop a web-based inventory management system to digitalize and automate spare part tracking across Teradyne test system (e.g., HDD Testers and ATE platforms). The system will manage multiple inventory states (Good, Defective, On Order), support transactional workflows, and provide real-time visibility through dashboards and reports. This project involves full-stack development, data modeling, and business logic implementation based on an engineering workflow (flow chart provided).

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  1. Core System Development
    1. Develop a transaction-based inventory system to support:
      1. Book In / Book Out
      2. Verification In / Out
      3. Defective In / Out
      4. Scrap and Repair flows
    2. Implement inventory state management:
      1. Good Inventory on Hand
      2. Defective Inventory on Hand
      3. Inventory On Order
    3. Build calculation logic for real-time inventory updates

 

  1. Application Features

 

    1. Design and implement:
      1. Web-based UI for transaction input and tracking
      2. Inventory dashboards and summary reports
      3. Search and filtering for parts and transactions
    2. Support tracking of:
      1. Good parts lifecycle
      2. Defective parts lifecycle
      3. Verification workflow (inspection queue)
    3. Implement inventory formulas, such as:
      1. Inventory On Hand
      2. Inventory On Order
      3. Defective Aging (for SN-based parts) 

 

  1. System Design & Engineering

 

    1. Design database schema for:
      1. Parts
      2. Transactions
      3. Inventory states
    2. Implement:
      1. Role-based access control (e.g., clerk, supervisor, manager)
      2. Audit trail (who did what, when)
    3. Develop basic REST APIs for future integration (e.g., ERP/SAP)

 

  1. Documentation & Deployment

 

    1. Document:
      1. System architecture
      2. Data model and APIs
    2. Prepare:
      1. User guide for administrator users
      2. Source code and technical documentation
    3. Support deployment to:
      1. Staging environment
      2. Production (internal use)

 

Technical Stack

 

  • Frontend: React / simple web UI
  • Backend: C# (.NET)
  • Database: SQL (or approved internal alternative)
  • Optional: SharePoint integration (if required),Power BI / dashboard tools

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering / software engineering
  • Basic programming knowledge (any of the following) : C#, JavaScript , Understanding of Basic web development (frontend/backend concepts), Data structure and logic design

 

Expected Deliverables

  • By the end of the internship, the intern should:
  • Deliver a working web-based inventory system
  • Support core transaction flows and inventory calculations
  • Provide basic dashboard/reporting capability
  • Submit documentation and code for handover

 

We are only considering candidates local to position location and are unable to provide relocation for this position
