AI Data Scientist Intern

Position Summary
The Data Science Intern – AI Project Acceleration will support the rapid development, prototyping, and scaling of applied AI and data science solutions across the enterprise. This role is focused on accelerating proof of concept (PoC) and early stage AI initiatives by supporting data preparation, model experimentation, automation, and performance analysis.
The intern will work closely with IT and business stakeholders to help transform data into actionable insights and deployable AI capabilities that improve speed, quality, and decision making across operations.
Key Responsibilities
•    Support the development and acceleration of AI and data science projects, particularly PoCs and pilot initiatives, by assisting with data exploration, feature engineering, and model experimentation.
•    Prepare, clean, and analyze structured and semi structured data from enterprise systems to enable AI use cases.
•    Assist in building and refining machine learning models using Python and common data science libraries.
•    Contribute to the creation and maintenance of data pipelines, notebooks, and reproducible workflows.
•    Evaluate model performance and help document findings, assumptions, and limitations.
•    Collaborate with cross functional teams (IT, Engineering, Manufacturing, Finance, HR, etc.) to understand business problems and translate them into data driven approaches.
•    Help automate repetitive data analysis or reporting tasks to improve efficiency.
•    Document technical work clearly to support knowledge sharing and future scalability.

Required Qualifications
•    Currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field.
•    Foundational knowledge of Python for data analysis and modeling.
•    Familiarity with data science concepts such as regression, classification, clustering, and model evaluation.
•    Experience using Jupyter Notebooks or similar tools.
•    Basic understanding of data structures, statistics, and data quality concepts.
•    Strong analytical thinking and problem solving skills.
•    Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
•    Experience with common Python libraries (e.g., pandas, NumPy, scikit learn).
•    Exposure to machine learning, AI, or analytics projects through coursework, research, or internships.
•    Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git).
•    Interest in applied AI use cases such as process optimization, predictive analytics, or automation.
•    Curiosity about how AI can be scaled and governed in an enterprise environment.
